Terms
The deal, in plain words.
No lawyer wrote this to confuse you. Here's what you get, what you pay, and what happens if either of us wants out.
Last updated 12 September 2026.
The short version. We design your site for free. You only pay if you say yes. Once you're paying, you can stop any time and you won't be billed again — we don't refund the period you're already in. The domain is yours. Your content is yours. We're two people, not a corporation, and if something goes wrong the honest thing is to text us first.
Who we are
Chenchos Built is a small website business operated from Green Bay, Wisconsin, serving customers in the United States and Canada. You can reach us at 920-401-9418 — text is usually fastest.
The free design
We'll design and build a first version of your site at no cost and send you a link to look at. There's no card required, no trial that starts billing, and no obligation. If you don't want it, tell us and we delete it. If you want changes before deciding, ask and we'll make them within reason.
We may decline a request, or tell you we're too busy that week. We'll say so up front rather than going quiet.
What you pay
- Ongoing plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance, starting the day you say yes.
- One-off sites — invitations and events — are a single payment, with no subscription attached.
- All prices are in US dollars. If your card is issued outside the US, your bank sets the exchange rate and may add a foreign transaction fee we don't control.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Prices can change, but not for you mid-term. We'll give at least 30 days' notice before a renewal at a new price, and you can cancel instead.
Cancelling
You can cancel an ongoing plan at any time, from your account page or by texting us. Your site stays up until the end of the period you've already paid for, then comes down. We don't refund the current period, and we don't charge a cancellation fee.
If a payment fails, we'll keep your site online for a short grace period and try the card again before anything goes offline. Nothing is deleted when a site goes offline — we hold your files for a year, and putting it back up is one message.
What we look after
Hosting, HTTPS, and keeping the site working are included in every plan. We keep every previous version so we can roll back a bad change, and we check that sites are responding.
We aim to keep your site available and to answer messages quickly, but we don't offer a guaranteed uptime figure or a contractual response time. We're two people. If that matters for your business, you should know it before you buy rather than after.
Changes and edits
What's included differs by plan and is set out on the pricing page. "Unlimited changes" means ordinary content edits — text, photos, prices, hours. It doesn't mean rebuilding the site repeatedly or adding new functionality, which we'll quote separately and agree with you first.
Who owns what
- Your domain is registered in your name. It's yours, including if you leave us.
- Your content — words, photos, logo, customer data — is yours. We claim no rights to it beyond what we need to build and run the site.
- The underlying build stays ours. On an ongoing plan you're paying for the site to be built and kept running, not buying the code. If you want to own it outright, ask us about the one-time plan.
- We'd like to show your site as an example of our work, but we'll ask you first, and no isn't a problem.
What you're responsible for
The content you give us has to be yours to use — your photos, or ones you're licensed to use. Don't send us someone else's copyrighted material. You're responsible for the accuracy of what your site says about your business, including prices, licensing, and any claims about your services.
We won't build sites for anything illegal, and we may decline or stop work on content we find hateful, deceptive, or aimed at exploiting people.
If something goes wrong
We'll fix what we can, and quickly. But to be plain about the limit: our responsibility to you is capped at what you've paid us in the previous three months. We aren't liable for lost business, lost profit, or anything downstream of a site being offline. That's a normal limit for a service at this price, and you should weigh it before you buy.
Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer law where you live.
Changes to these terms
If we change anything that affects you, we'll tell you by text or email before it takes effect. Continuing to pay after that means you're fine with it; cancelling is always an option.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, USA.
